About

HISTORY

Alaina Forsythe Foundation was founded by Alaina Forsythe in 2024 after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at 29 years of age.

In 2022, she had been hospitalized at an institution & treated by a neurology department with a general understanding of Multiple Sclerosis but minimal experience or knowledge. Being continuously tested and unconfidently diagnosed; later she was transferred to Pennsylvania Hospitals Neurology Center. What had been the scariest and most uncertain moment in her & her loved one’s lives, there they found comfort, confidence and unconditional support while being treated by the team of Neurologists who dedicate their lives to Multiple Sclerosis and related neurological disorders at Pennsylvania Hospital.

Two years of living with Multiple Sclerosis her desire to expand her family became another challenge. While managing daily life with MS is a hard enough adjustment, trying to conceive & carry became yet another painful journey.

After her diagnosis, she was determined to devote her time and resources to support those who are living with Multiple Sclerosis – focusing on funding educational resources & awareness across institutions as well as supporting women’s journeys, who struggle to conceive while living with this incurable disease. Alaina’s strength and courage continue to inspire her to maintain a vivacious quality of life, despite the continuous struggles she endures from living with MS. Her positive outlook and desire to not let this disease derail her living life to the fullest, has given her the courage to share her journey while supporting the many others who share her same diagnosis.

It is with great pleasure and gratitude that proceeds raised through the Alaina Forsythe Foundation will fund Penn/CHOP - Multiple Sclerosis & Related Neuroinflammatory Disorders Fellowship and Woman with MS Family Planning & Pregnancy.
